Welcome to Dad Driven™. Like you, I'm an avid motorsports and car enthusiast, but most of all, a Father.
As long as I could remember, my father had me wrenching with him in our garage and driveway on mini-bikes, cars, bicycles and anything motorized that we could tinker with. This was a core memory for me as a child and helped build an everlasting bond with him. As I grew older, my love for motorsports, racing, building cars and being involved in the car community & culture evolved.
Now that I am a parent to our son, Oliver, I found myself wanting to involve him in every aspect of motorsports and car culture. When Oliver was just 3 weeks old, I found a rear-facing car seat that fit perfect in my [then] Porsche 911 997. I started taking him to car shows, events and cruises. He absolutely loved it!
Then, I started hosting my own events that grew to over 250+ cars at each event within a few months. Every time I showed up to an event with Oliver in his car seat, a sign on the window that said, "Baby Not Bored," I received comments like, "You fit a car seat in the 911?!" or "Where did you get a car seat that fits? I need one for my kid." It seemed that most car dad's either couldn't find a seat that worked or simply loved the fact Oliver was with me.
As I bought and sold different cars, specifically Porsches, one thing had to remain, Oliver had to be able to join me at shows, cruises and beyond. On top of this, when I need to work on the car, Oliver is there passing me tools, asking questions like, "Dadda, what does this/that do?" It has been an incredible bonding experience for us.
This is why I created, Dad Driven™. To Celebrate Fatherhood through Community & Car Culture!
